2017 GRIDLIFE TIME ATTACK EMAIL
The second round of #GRIDLIFE TrackBattle is a week away. We have been working tirelessly to make this year's event as amazing as can be for both competitors and spectators alike. We can’t stress enough how much we appreciate the support from this growing track community as we continue to refine and improve these events. Below you will find all the info you need for the weekend. Please contact us with any questions or clarification that is needed.
GETTING TO THE FESTIVAL.
Gingerman Raceway is located at 61414 Co Rd 388 in South Haven, MI 49090 We have a dedicated gate for all HPDE / Time Attack Participants. Drivers will be entering VIA the South Gate, which is the main gate into Gingerman. The Gates will be open for registration 6pm - 12am Thursday and 6am - 1am the remainder of the weekend. Gates will remain open 24hrs for exit / re-entry for already registered drivers for the duration of the festival.
TICKETS & ENTRY
You will need to show either a printed paper or a digital version of your ticket to be scanned at the gate. The continually updating list of Drivers is located here. If you have a confirmed ticket but do not see your name on the drivers list contact seetickets at http://support.flavorus.com/ Let them know you are a Time Attack Driver for GRIDLIFE MidWest and need to complete your registration form. With any luck they will know what you’re talking about. Additionally you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org to verify your entry.
CAMPING & CREW
Camping is included with all Time Attack registration. You will have space in the primary paddock to set up camp. There is no charge for RV’s or pull behind campers for drivers. The paddock for this years festival will be restricted to drivers and crew only. We will not be allowing any GA ticket holders into the main paddock area. All Crew and Friends must have either a crew pass / GA ticket and a camping pass if they are staying overnight.
Time Attack Drivers are allowed to purchase 2 Crew passes. These are add-ons to your drivers ticket and can only be purchased PRIOR to arrival by contacting www.support.flavorus.com . There is no way to purchase these tickets at the gate. Any crew exceeding 2 and / or purchased at the gate, will be at full price. Additionally, crew passes DO NOT include camping. Any crew that is staying overnight on the festival grounds will need to purchase camping passes as well. Camping is per person.
Paddock space is going to be extremely tight. While we have fewer drivers than years previous, there are larger rigs in the paddock and increased GA attendance. We will be doing all we can to allocate appropriate space for everyone throughout the weekend but please keep it tight in the paddock. Double up with friends if possible and help make space if needed. We will be using the support paddock for all HPDE drivers this year so plan for the possibility of padlocking on grass. All open and unused trailers must be stored out of the paddock in the boneyard for the weekend.
Due to the limited amount of paddock power at Gingerman power access for the festival event power will be reserved for GOLD PASS ticket holders only. Generators will be allowed in the paddock for those that wish to power their own spaces.
All Time Attack Drivers must go through registration at Time Attack HQ located South of the Timing Tower. Here you will receive your transponder if needed, claim your final Run Group, pick up your banners, Door Cards, Numbers and Contingency Decals.
We have a number of contingencies available for all competitors this season, From Powerstop / Maxxis / SpeedFreaks / Koyorad / Quicktrick & More. All contingency details and required decals will be available at registration. For a list of contingencies check the contingency roundup page in the time attack section of our site. We will be adding additional contingencies all the way up to the week of the event.

CLASSES / AUDIT
TrackBattle classes are self selected and based off a Scouts Honor system. We trust that all vehicles will be built according to the rules of their Class in a fair and friendly manner. All vehicles will be subject to a build audit at any time during the competition. The top 5 finishers at the end of the competition may be required to go through a build audit on Sunday before awards are distributed. Build audits may be requested of another competitor suspected of bending the rules. But please, this is fun so let’s keep it fun.
The will be mandatory drivers meetings each morning along with a specific Time Attack meeting immediately following the Drivers Meeting. These are both mandatory. You must attend in order to get on track each day. Make it a priority.
DOOR CARDS BANNERS & NUMBERS
For round 2, Door Cards, Numbers, & Banners are included with your registration. For all the remaining events throughout the season, we will begin charging our cost for these items. The cost is $20 for Banners and $15 for door cards and numbers. If your are competing throughout the season, please retain your door cards / numbers for the remaining events to avoid additional charges. We will do our best to give you your requested vehicle number but cannot guarantee that the number you requested at registration will be available. You can’t all be Car 69, 666 or 777. Your given number will be retained throughout the entire #GRIDLIFE Season.
If you do not have your own transponder, you may rent one from us. Rental is $20 per transponder which is our actual cost for rental. There is no charge for those that already own their own transponders. Payment can be made VIA cash or charge. Please return your rentals prior to leaving the festival grounds on Sunday!
TrackBattle will take place on all three days of #GRIDLIFE Midwest. Friday - Sunday.
Each driver will have 3 sessions per day at roughly 15 minutes each to lay down their best laps. Times from all sessions can be counted towards competition. If on track incidents cut sessions short we do all we can to make up time at the end of the day to ensure everyone gets appropriate sessions on track. THE FULL MOTORSPORTS SCHEDULE CAN BE FOUND HERE
The TrackBattle field will be re-gridded after each session based off of lap times. Be sure to check in at TrackBattle HQ for posted times, run groups and grid order after each session. Drivers will receive a 5 minute call to grid prior to their hot session. YOU MUST BE IN GRID IN POSITION WHEN YOUR GROUP IS SENT OUT. If you miss your grid time you will lose that session entirely. PLEASE BE ON TIME.
Each TrackBattle group will have roughly 20 cars on track and will be sent onto track as a pack. It is the responsibility of the group to make sure that there is adequate space between you and the car in front of you so that you are able to get clean laps. There is no warm up lap. After going out onto track, your first time across start/finish will be the beginning of the heat. In the event of an off, we will be doing hot pulls whenever possible to keep the track hot for the duration of the Time Attack session. Flags and on track etiquette will be covered in the Time Attack meeting each day.
The awards ceremony will take place following Final Grid at the end of the event on Sunday. At this time the raffle prizing from SNAP ON / MOMO / QUICK TRICK & Others will be awarded at this time. You must be present to Claim prizing. Please plan to stay through the ceremony to celebrate your friends and competitors.

THE 2017 SEASON
Midwest festival is the 2nd of 5 rounds for the 2017 season. The remaining rounds take place July 1-2 at Autobahn Country Club , Aug 25-27 at Road Atlanta and returning to Gingerman Raceway for the final round Oct 7-8
THE 2017 POWERSTOP Bondurant CUP
Announcing our grand prize for this years TrackBattle competition, The POWERSTOP BONDURANT CUP. The 4 First place finishers (one from each class) in this years season points chase will win an all expenses paid trip to Bondurant racing school and a full 4 day Forza Motorsport Grand Prix racing program. This 4 day racing experience is a near $6000 program that progressively builds skills throughout the 4 days moving from Hellcats to formula cars and giving participants the opportunity to walk away with an SCCA Wheel to Wheel license at the end of the program.
