#Gridlife Round 1 Review
Round one was the biggest timeattack field we have seen since we started #GRIDLIFE. The heat mixed with the first event for many of our Midwest competitors, claimed a few vehicles at Round 1. That didn't stop most records from falling in South Haven. Lets take a look at what happened!
HPDE +
Eric Dominated the field by almost a full second in his prepped Mustang. It was great to see all those eagles fly during Timeattack. Official Time: 1:43.976
Alex in his clean 350Z put down a respectable time of 1.44.840, which if this was last season's Round 1 would have put him in First. Look forward to seeing more of this car and driver.
Matt In the Ninelives Racing 350Z was still one of the loudest cars out there. At least with all the noise he was able to put down at time of 1:45.020
Charles an his Evo are one of the new faces we seen competing this season. taking home first place in AWD HPDE, we look to see him more this season. Official time: 1:47.185
Just look at that nose dive, Not sure how much longer the rear wheels care going to be on the ground so we will round up the top 5 from HPDE with Matthew's Focus ST putting down a time of 1:50.110
Street Modified
RS Motors with another fast Evo, Thats starting to be a catch phrase. Maybe even a hashtag. This evo X clocked in a 1:41.066 #RSevo
Yet another RS Motors car taking home a top 5 finish in Street Mod. This one is not an evo though, this M3 is piloted by Matt and put down a blazing time of 1:41.898.
Nextmod's S2000 came down from Canada and ran with in 1 second from the Gingerman N/A, Street Tire S2000 record. That's beyond impressive. Sadly they missed first place in Street RWD by one tenth. Official time of 1:41.959
Josh rounds up our top 5 with an impressive time of 1:42.257 in his turbocharged 350Z. Its all in the wing, We keep telling you guys this!
Track Modified
Back to our scheduled program of RS Motors taking being the fastest Midwest team. Taking home honors as the Fastest Track Mod car with a time of 1:35.747 #RSevo
Boersma Racing, took home second place overall in track modified. A blazing time of 1:35.773 which was only 3 thousandths slower then Brandon's evo!!
Ryan and his NASA ST3 prepared M3 showed what a wheel to wheel car can do in timeattack. Putting down a respectable time of 1:38.261 taking home first in Track Mod RWD.
DMN Racing's Evo piloted by Michael, took Second in Trackt Modified overall with a blazing time of 1:38.420.
Bart and his America powered M3 took home second place in Track Mod RWD. A BMW 1 and 2 Finish. Glad to see the new faces in Trackbattle on podium.
Unlimited
Professional Awesome came saw and conquered. Posting the Fastest time of the event....Posting a time of 1:29.670
the K Tuned Type R reset the FWD record for Gingerman Race way with 1:31.647, Oh by the way it was reset by 5 seconds!
The RS Motors Evo took home second place in round one with a time of 1.31.723, Its odd saying RS Motors took second, we look forward to seeing them battle for 1st place again come round 2. #RSevo
Will was battling wheel hop issues all weekend but still was able to take home second with a time of 1:35.412, We hope he gets it sorted out and visits the USA again for Round 2.
Mild to wild secured first place with a time of 1:35.799, which makes 3 out of our top 5 unlimited cars from Canada.
Honorable Mentions
Mico taking home third in HPDE + with a time of 1:56 in his first Timeattack competition.
