Save April 2–4, 2027, for a new GRIDLIFE weekend at Thunderhill Raceway Park.
We’re heading to Willows, California, to open the 2027 GRIDLIFE Season with wheel-to-wheel racing, time attack, drifting and a full weekend of activities at the track. As part of a full weekend of on-track action, World Racing League (WRL) will bring back the 25 Hours of ThunderHill for the first time since 2023.
The legendary 25-hour endurance race will cap off a full GRIDLIFE competition weekend, with activities spread across the facility. For fans and drivers, that means plenty to explore throughout the weekend, with the 25 Hours carrying the action through the night.
The return of the 25 Hours of Thunderhill
For years, the 25 Hours of Thunderhill held a unique place in grassroots endurance racing. Its extended duration put an emphasis on preparation, teamwork and keeping a car running through the night.
WRL will lead the returning endurance race, which is scheduled to begin Saturday afternoon, run through the night, and finish 25 hours later on Sunday. The race will include WRL’s Grand Touring (GT) and General Production (GP) competition.
“The 25 Hours of Thunderhill has always been the ultimate test of endurance, strategy, and sheer determination," said RJ Till, WRL President. "After a four-year hiatus, WRL is excited to revive this legendary race alongside GRIDLIFE, introducing a new generation of drivers and fans to the world of endurance racing.”
We’re excited to see the 25 Hours return, and getting to share it with the GRIDLIFE community makes it even better. Some of you have followed this race for years; others will be discovering it for the first time. We can’t wait to experience that return together, with a full weekend of GRIDLIFE racing, time attack, drifting, and community.
A full GRIDLIFE weekend across Thunderhill
Alongside the endurance race, the GRIDLIFE lineup will include:
Eibach GRIDLIFE Touring Cup (GLTC): a wheel-to-wheel sprint racing series, featuring a wide variety of cars competing under a formula built around a base ratio of 12.5 pounds per horsepower.
GRIDLIFE Grand Touring (GLGT): a wheel-to-wheel sprint racing series for faster, more powerful cars, built around a target ratio of 8.9 pounds per horsepower.
GRIDLIFE TrackBattle Time Attack: a multiclass time attack series, where drivers race against the clock to set the fastest lap in their class.
GRIDLIFE Drift: Professional and grassroots drivers will take on the road course and skid pads throughout the weekend in an exhibition-style showcase.
With GRIDLIFE and WRL using the venue’s tracks and surfaces all weekend, you can follow your favorite teams or wander around the paddock and discover others.
“Bringing back the 25 Hours of Thunderhill is a big deal for grassroots motorsports, and we want the whole weekend to match that,” said Chris Stewart, GRIDLIFE President and Co-Founder. “With WRL leading the endurance race, we’re building a full GRIDLIFE experience around it. We want Thunderhill Raceway Park to feel alive across the whole site, with fans and drivers coming together, and the energy carrying on long after dark. It’s the kind of weekend we’d want to spend at the track ourselves, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone as we kick off the 2027 season!”
Camping and community at the track
Off track you’ll find on-site camping, the GRIDLIFE Arcade, vendors and more.
Eat, sleep and breathe GRIDLIFE Thunderhill when you camp at the track with us. From BBQs at your campsite to late-night hangs with friends old and new, it’s the best way to immerse yourself in the full GRIDLIFE experience and stay close to the action all weekend long.
For a change of pace, head to the GRIDLIFE Arcade. Jump into a racing simulator, chase high scores on vintage arcade games or challenge your friends to Mario Kart, Smash Bros., ping pong or cornhole. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just hanging out, it’s a place to kick back and keep the friendly competition going off the track.
Whether you’ve been coming to GRIDLIFE for years, have followed the 25 Hours since its earlier editions, or are planning your first trip to a racetrack, we’re building this weekend with you in mind. Take in the competition, explore the event and spend time with the GRIDLIFE and WRL communities.
“Endurance racing is part of Thunderhill’s DNA, so bringing GRIDLIFE and World Racing League together for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill feels like the right move at the right time. Both teams know how to build real racing communities, and that’s exactly who Thunderhill is,” said Matt Busby, President and CEO of Thunderhill Raceway Park.
