Championships Neck and Neck as GRIDLIFE Midwest Festival Begins Summer Stretch

South Haven, MI – GRIDLIFE Midwest Festival returns to GingerMan Raceway June 12-14 as one of the most anticipated weekends on the 2026 calendar, blending motorsports, drifting, camping, live music, and car culture into GRIDLIFE’s biggest weekend of the year. As the season reaches its third round, championship battles across Eibach GRIDLIFE Touring Cup, TrackBattle Time Attack, GRIDLIFE GT, and the GRIDLIFE RUSH Series are tighter than ever. Following dramatic weekends at Carolina Motorsports Park and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, many classes arrive at GingerMan either tied for the lead, or separated by single-digit points.

Kutil, Magnussen Bring Heated GLTC Fight to GingerMan

Eibach GRIDLIFE Touring Cup heads into Midwest Festival with one of the most exciting developing stories in the paddock. After sweeping all four races and qualifying at Road Atlanta, Eric Kutil claimed the lead of the standings by just two points over Eric Magnussen following one of the most dramatic GLTC weekends in recent years.

The rivalry has quickly become the headline of the 2026 season. Magnussen opened the year by capitalizing on Kutil’s mechanical issues at Carolina Motorsports Park before the two spent Road Atlanta fighting for the lead in dramatic fashion in front of a crowd of thousands in the combined GRIDLIFE and Formula Drift weekend.

Kutil narrowly defeated Magnussen in one of the closest finishes in recent memory after a last-lap pass in race 3, while Aryton Grim repeatedly inserted himself into the lead battle in his turbocharged MX-5. Grim’s pace has continued to improve at every event, making him a legitimate threat to steal victories from both championship contenders.

The revised 2026 Eibach GLTC rules package continues producing one of the most diverse fields in recent memory. Alongside the front-running Hondas and BMWs, podium-contending pace has emerged from Daniel Giraldo’s Lexus IS350, Blake Korth’s Porsche Cayman, RJ Till’s E30 BMW, and Joel Morrison’s J-swapped S2000.

GingerMan Raceway traditionally favors smaller, lighter cars, owing to its serpentine track layout, though some of the corner exits favor the torque of the larger-engined cars. GRIDLIFE’s original festival is poised to once again be a battleground for an emerging championship fight.

Rauck Looks to Extend Unlimited Class Lead

GRIDLIFE TrackBattle enters Midwest Festival with championship battles tightening across nearly every class. With Allen Patten missing due to other racing commitments, opportunity knocks for Jimmy Rauck, Mike Dusold, Jeremy Lowder, Ernestas Puzelis, and others to capitalize on a critical points opportunity midway through the season. Though Mike Dusold defeated Rauck at Road Atlanta, Jimmy Rauck’s car is better suited for GingerMan Raceway. There’s a significant headwind for the #921 though, as the team deals with an engine issue related to a connecting rod that will require major work before next month’s event.

Adam Slowinski has emerged as the early championship favorite in Track Mod, with his BMW M4 Competition xDrive resetting Track Mod AWD records at both Carolina Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta. Chris Boersma, meanwhile, continues pushing the K-Tuned Civic platform after breaking his own long-standing FWD Track Mod benchmark at Road Atlanta. They’ll be joined by other class regulars like Brad Perkins and Justin Peachey, who both are looking for redemption after issues at Road Atlanta.

Street Mod may again become the headline category this weekend thanks to reigning champion Dewey DeWitt. After obliterating the Road Atlanta Street Mod record in “Boogeyman,” his Subaru Impreza, DeWitt intentionally parked the car early to preserve it and continue his championship run. Dewey hasn’t lost an event since Midwest last year, an incredible seven straight wins and track records in Street Modified. His eyes are on the sub 1:30 mark, an incomprehensibly fast lap time just a few years ago. 

Luke McGrew remains undefeated in Street GT, while Josh Halka continues controlling Street class after resetting records at both opening rounds. Willem Drees and the KDM Tuners Hyundai Elantra N also continue inching closer to outright Street pace while repeatedly resetting FWD benchmarks. Street class features an abnormally large 15-car entry list, including Sam Bosnian in an Evo, Brad Moore returning in his Porsche Cayman, and last year’s champion Andy Holst, shaping up to be one of the most competitive classes of the weekend.

Falken ClubTR, ClubSC Championship Battles Nearly Tied

Some of the closest championship fights entering Midwest Festival belong to Falken ClubTR and Falken ClubSC, where the class leaders in each class arrive tied with their rivals. 

Falken ClubTR has rapidly evolved into one of the deepest categories in TrackBattle, with Jerami Bailey, Peter Granberg, Evan McLaren, Patrick Harvey, Mario Mirone, and Stan Fayngold all emerging as podium threats early in the season. Peter Granberg and Jerami Bailey sit tied at 42 points entering the third round of the year, but the 25-car entry list is near-record size for this event. With Evan McLaren back on the grid, there’s five entries that can easily win with a good lap on Sunday afternoon, with a further five more that could just as well play villain in Podium Sprint.

Meanwhile, ClubSC sees a bolstered 10-car entry list, including both tied points leaders, Lennon Radcliffe and Mike Janssen. Radcliffe’s late-session flyer at Road Atlanta allowed him to tie Mike Janssen atop the standings entering Midwest Festival, immediately raising the stakes for GingerMan Raceway. Sam Deuling, David Best, and John Laughlin also remain within striking distance after consistently strong finishes throughout the opening rounds. James Smith also returns to Club SC competition, along with Becky Robertson and Israel Trejo. 

With GingerMan Raceway rewarding momentum and driver precision more than outright horsepower, both Falken classes could produce some of the closest margins of the season.

RUSH Series Continues Explosive Growth

The GRIDLIFE RUSH Series continues its breakout 2026 campaign after growing from a record 44-car field at Carolina Motorsports Park to an incredible 53 entries at Road Atlanta.

Bryce Mersberger enters Midwest Festival leading the championship thanks to remarkable consistency through the opening rounds. After earning his first career points-paying wins at Carolina Motorsports Park, Mersberger followed it up with another overall weekend victory at Road Atlanta despite winning only one race. His ability to stay near the front in every session has made him the benchmark entering Round 3.

Defending champion Ryan Leach remains firmly in the title hunt after several victories of his own, while James French and Blair Hosie continue showing front-running pace nearly every race. Hosie finally converted that speed into a Road Atlanta victory after penalties and luck relegated him down the order.

Several newcomers have also quickly established themselves as contenders. Karting standout Jordon Musser impressed immediately during his Road Atlanta debut before mechanical problems interrupted his weekend, while Ryerson Whissell has continued a strong rookie campaign after first appearing late last season.

The category has already produced some of the most dramatic moments of the season, including multiple late-race incidents at Carolina Motorsports Park and a stunning 0.037-second finish between Mersberger and French at Road Atlanta - one of the closest finishes in GRIDLIFE history.

With another massive field expected at GingerMan Raceway, the RUSH Series appears poised for yet another unpredictable and tightly contested weekend.

Rosenberg Defends GRIDLIFE GT Lead

GRIDLIFE GT continues gaining momentum entering Midwest Festival as reigning Eibach GLTC champion Matan Rosenberg carries a narrow championship advantage into Round 3.

After earning his first GRIDLIFE GT win at Carolina Motorsports Park, Rosenberg dominated much of the Road Atlanta weekend in his #484 Vibrant Performance Corvette, steadily building chemistry with the higher-powered platform and Toyo Proxes R tire package introduced for 2026.

Christian Aranha remains Rosenberg’s closest challenger despite repeated reliability setbacks through the opening rounds. Aranha consistently demonstrated race-winning pace at both Carolina Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta, charging through the field after mechanical problems early in the weekend. Reigning 2025 champion Hans Horpedahl also returns to the grid in his own Corvette C5. Horpedahl won the title in a narrow margin after a consistent late charge beginning at Laguna Seca.

Behind them, AJ Hartman continues developing his turbocharged V6 Mustang despite boost issues rearing their head at Road Atlanta. Chris DeLucia remains in the background getting closer to a breakout win in 2026.. Jordan Wiseley and the KDM Tuners crew also continue finding pace in their unique front-wheel drive Hyundai Elantra N. The Road Atlanta weekend was hampered by an engine change, but with with a fresh heart under the hood, they look forward to a track that might better suit the turbocharged hatchback. The grid at Midwest Festival, so far, features seventeen entrants, the highest so far this year.

The Heartbeat of GRIDLIFE Returns

GRIDLIFE Midwest Festival again serves as the cultural centerpiece of the GRIDLIFE season. Fans can expect full-course drifting, camping, racing, vendor villages, car shows, an open paddock, and major music performances throughout the weekend.

The 2026 event features performances from Crankdat, Tape B, INZO, Ray Volpe, Borgore, and more as GRIDLIFE continues blending motorsports and music into one of the most unique festival environments in North America.
