Championships Tighten as GRIDLIFE Heads to Lime Rock Park

Lakeville, CT – GRIDLIFE’s Circuit Legends event enters its fifth year at Lime Rock Park next weekend, August 21–22, 2026. The event celebrates not only the five on-track disciplines featured at every GRIDLIFE event, but also the modern era of tuning culture that defined a generation. This year, the Forza Horizon 6 Concours, curated by GRIDLIFE x Prime, will showcase dozens of JDM legends as one of the weekend’s feature attractions, alongside the GRIDLIFE arcade and Saturday night karaoke, both adorned with Forza Horizon 6 details.

On Friday night, spectators can join Hert for a fireside Q&A with Sung Kang following a preview of the upcoming Drifter movie on trackside screens. All of that comes in addition to the fifth of six rounds of the GRIDLIFE championships, with several titles still very much up for grabs as the season enters its final stretch.

Unlimited Championship Could Go Down to the Wire

Four of the seven TrackBattle championships have already been decided, with Joshua Halka, Luke McGrew, and Dewey DeWitt securing titles in Street, Street GT, and Street Mod. Adam Slowinski has a nearly insurmountable advantage in Track Mod, leaving Falken Club TR and Unlimited as the classes where the championship battle remains most open. Mike Janssen has also effectively locked up Falken Club SC, with Lennon Radcliffe’s only opportunity to match Janssen falling short in a tiebreaker. 

Falken Club TR is shaping up to be one of the closest championships of the season. Peter Granberg and Jerami Bailey have separated themselves from the field, with just ten points between them heading into Lime Rock. The pair have traded the top step throughout the season, continuing a class tradition that has frequently seen front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive cars fight for the same championship. This year, however, the final battle is between two GT86/BRZ-platform cars: Granberg’s K24-swapped BRZ and Bailey’s FA24-swapped FR-S.

Evan McLaren remains within striking distance of the season podium, although he currently sits behind Mario Mirone. With two rounds remaining, there is still plenty of room for the championship order to change before the season finale at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Unlimited may be the most dramatic of all.

Mike Dusold opened the season with a win at Road Atlanta and followed it with another at Watkins Glen, but his absence at the other two events has left him fifth in the championship. At the top, Ernestas Puzelis and Andrius Bertulis are tied for the lead. Puzelis has built his position almost entirely through consistency, with a best finish of second at GingerMan Raceway but strong results throughout the season in his #338 Corvette.

Bertulis has been equally consistent in his #171 Lexus RC-F, while Jeremy Lowder sits just behind them in third. Lowder has collected three top-five finishes in his Chevrolet Camaro, including a podium, and remains firmly in championship contention.

Jake Ertel is also within reach after a season that has included podium pace in his Corvette. With Allen Patten likely finished with GRIDLIFE competition for the year, the championship is wide open. However, all of them will have to beat the current GRIDLIFE track record holder, Sasha Anis, who returns again in the hybrid Nissan 350z known as Kels, throwing a wrench in the plans of the championship front runners. A strong weekend at Lime Rock could put any of the front-runners in position to arrive at Laguna Seca with a legitimate shot at the title.

Kutil and Magnussen Return to a Familiar Fight

The Eibach GRIDLIFE Touring Cup championship has become one of the defining stories of the 2026 season, and just 14 points separate Eric Magnussen and Eric Kutil heading into Lime Rock.

Magnussen’s #3 LS-swapped BMW M3 took control of the championship at Watkins Glen, where he won three of four races and brought his season victory total to five. That performance also triggered an additional 3% reward weight for the remainder of the season, bringing Magnussen’s rewards weight percentage to the same as Kutil has carried since GingerMan Raceway.

Kutil remains within striking distance, and Lime Rock could be an important opportunity to reverse the championship momentum. The Honda driver has historically been strong at the Connecticut circuit, finishing ahead of Magnussen there last season. If that trend continues, the championship could change hands again before the final round.

The two have already produced some of the best racing of the season. At Road Atlanta, Kutil swept all four races, while Watkins Glen saw Magnussen establish himself as the driver to beat. Now, the pair arrive at one of the shortest and most technical circuits on the calendar with the championship still very much unresolved.

Behind them, Andy Smedegard and Joel Morrison are fighting for the final championship podium position. Smedegard has been one of the fastest drivers in the field when his FA24-swapped Toyota 86 is present, while Morrison enters Lime Rock with his first GLTC victory fresh in the memory after taking the final race at Watkins Glen.

The Circuit Legends entry list features 34 Eibach GLTC cars, including Lee Wamboldt and Ronnie Vajdak in Acura Integras, Jeffrey Oliveira in a K24-powered Mazda RX-8, and Nicholas Barbato in his #49 BMW M3, alongside the season regulars. Besik George Menabde also returns for his second round after debuting at Summer Apex with three top-20 finishes.

At a circuit where lap times are separated by fractions of a second, qualifying position and clean execution could be just as important as outright pace.

Rosenberg and Aranha Separated by Six Points

GRIDLIFE GT (GLGT) enters its penultimate round with another championship battle that could come down to the final race of the season.

Christian Aranha leads Matan Rosenberg by just six points after Watkins Glen, with drop races now factored into the championship for both drivers. That margin represents the difference between a first- and third-place finish in a single race, making every position at Lime Rock especially important.

Both drivers have been major players in the series all season in their C5 Chevrolet Corvettes. Rosenberg, the reigning Eibach GLTC champion, started the year with a new Vibrant Performance program and quickly established himself as a contender in the higher-powered GLGT class. Aranha, meanwhile, has been one of his most consistent challengers.

The two will face an interesting benchmark at Lime Rock. Neither competed in GLGT at the circuit last year, but James Houghton did - and won races in his #41 Honda Civic Type R TCR. Houghton and AJ Hartman ran nose-to-tail for much of that weekend and are both expected to be contenders again, with their turbocharged, high-downforce cars particularly well suited to the circuit.

Hartman enters Lime Rock after a difficult stretch that included a power issue at GingerMan, but rebounded with podiums at Watkins Glen. Chris DeLucia also returns after the dramatic BMW fire at GingerMan, completing a full repair and scoring multiple top-five finishes at Watkins Glen.

Bob Kaser joins the GLGT field for the first time in a 2013 Ford Boss 302 Mustang, bringing a naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 that paints a stark contrast to the other Mustang in the field.

2025 champion Hans Horpedahl, Alex Peitz, and the rest of the GLGT regulars round out a field that will have just two more events to decide its second-ever champion.

Mersberger Looks to Maintain RUSH Advantage

The GRIDLIFE RUSH Series has produced some of the largest and most competitive fields of the season, with more than 70 unique competitors taking part in 2026. Through four rounds, championship leader Bryce Mersberger has established a sizeable advantage, but the fight behind him remains extremely close.

Mersberger leads Blair Hosie and Ryan Leach by nearly 50 points, built in part on five consecutive podium finishes at GingerMan Raceway and Watkins Glen. His consistency has been the defining characteristic of his championship run, allowing him to maintain his advantage even as Leach, Hosie, and James French have traded wins throughout the season.

French sits fourth in the standings, followed by Aryton Grim, who has spent the entire season pulling double duty between RUSH and Eibach GLTC. Ellis Spiezia has also quietly built one of the strongest streaks in the series, entering Circuit Legends with ten consecutive top-ten finishes in his #111.

The Lime Rock field will also feature a familiar name from the highest levels of American open-wheel racing. IndyCar veteran Zach Veach will make his RUSH Series debut in a RUSH SR, joining the 43-car field. Veach started the Indianapolis 500 four times during his career and becomes the second IndyCar veteran to make the jump into RUSH this season after Spencer Pigot.

With 43 cars entered, RUSH again has the largest wheel-to-wheel field of the weekend. At a circuit as short and narrow as Lime Rock Park, qualifying will be critical, with traffic and track position likely to play a major role throughout the weekend.

Drift, JDM Legends and More at Circuit Legends

The racing is only part of what makes Circuit Legends unique. Nearly 30 cars are registered for GRIDLIFE Drift, which returns to Lime Rock for the only event where drifting is permitted at the historic circuit.

T-Pain, Hert, and Dany Neville join a lineup that includes Matt Coffman and Jimmy Oakes, with more drivers still to be announced. The drifting action will complement the road racing throughout the weekend, bringing GRIDLIFE’s full mix of motorsports and tuning culture to one of the most iconic circuits in the country.

Off the track, the Forza Horizon 6 Concours Curated by GRIDLIFE x Prime will bring dozens of JDM legends together, while the GRIDLIFE arcade and Saturday night karaoke provide plenty to do between sessions. Friday night’s Sung Kang Q&A and Drifter preview will cap off the first day before championship competition resumes Saturday.

With multiple championships entering their most important rounds of the season, Circuit Legends is set to be one of the most consequential weekends on the 2026 GRIDLIFE calendar.
