GRIDLIFE Touring Cup Cars Come to Assetto Corsa at PRI Booth #145

Visitors to the annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) event in Indianapolis this weekend, December 8-10, 2022, will have the opportunity to virtually race some of GRIDLIFE’s most prominent Touring Cup race cars in Assetto Corsa at booth #145.

GRIDLIFE photographer Rob Wilkinson modified existing vehicle models in the Assetto Corsa PC game, adding features like rear wings, roll cages, and bumpers, while also simulating the engine swaps that some GRIDLIFE Touring Cup cars have in the real world. With careful tweaking to performance parameters, the cars are roughly balanced and ready for visitors at the PRI convention to drive on GRIDLIFE’s simulators.

Each simulator will be set up with a unique competitor’s car, so repeat visitors can try each vehicle and race against others in short sprint races. The cars represented are listed below.

-1992 Honda Civic EG Hatchback (Eric Kutil’s 2020 championship winning car)

-1990 K24 Mazda Miata (The Winning Formula cars - Aaron Leichty, Emile Tabb, Rob Manouchehri)

-2002 Chevrolet Corvette C5 (Jeremy Swenson’s 2021 championship winning car)

-2004 Honda S2000 (Based on ASM & Myriad Motorsports cars - Zac Lovoy, Tom O’Gorman (2022 champion) and Jake Joranstaad)

-2006 Duratec Mazda MX-5 (Based on Luke McGrew and Savanna Little’s cars)

-2006 Honda Civic Si (Based on D.J. Alessandrini’s vehicle)

These vehicle mods will not yet be publicly available as downloads since the original vehicles were not designed by GRIDLIFE staff - but stay tuned for future Assetto Corsa related projects!

Some of these virtual races will be announced live throughout the day, and will take place on a variety of tracks featured on present and future GRIDLIFE schedules. GRIDLIFE will announce the 2023 schedule and more details on the upcoming season at the State of the Grid meeting on Friday, December 9th, at 11:00 AM in room 239 at the PRI show.
